Beamer Ball is Back: Virginia Tech Shoots Up Saturday Blitz Week 2 ACC Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz Week 2 ACC Power Rankings
7. Miami Hurricanes 1-1 (0-1), Defeated Florida A&M 41-7 Last Weekend
A blowout win against Florida A&M doesn’t make up for what happened to the Miami Hurricanes on Labor Day against Louisville. Brad Kaaya’s bad quarterback play is still a big issue for the ‘Canes right now, and he needs to get better as soon as possible. Otherwise, this could be a very long season for this team and Al Golden in the ACC.
But there are some good things about the team, including the defense, which looked pretty good for the second straight week. The running game is very solid with Duke Johnson and Joseph Yearby, and Kaaya does have weapons if he can just get them the ball accurately and stop turning it over.
Still, the opening-night loss to Louisville was in a way kind of embarrassing mainly because the Cardinals were able to wear down Miami. Miami teams may be mistake-prone and undisciplined in losing games, but it should never be because they were worn down. There’s too much talent to allow that.
Because of that embarrassment, the Hurricanes remain in the bottom half of the ACC for now.
