Saturday Blitz Vegas Pac 12 Predictions Week 3

Army at No. 15 Stanford

Line: Stanford by 15

Stanford is going into this game feeling like they should be 3-0. A rare mistake-prone game cost them and David Shaw a win against USC. To avoid being snuck up on, Shaw will have to help his team get that out of their heads quickly. Stanford has a balanced offense and will be fine as long as it takes care of the football, doesn’t have un-timely mistakes, and Jordan Williamson makes the easy field goals. If those things don’t happen, then this weekend could get interesting as well, as the Army Black Knights are coming to town with a new coach and new attitude.

With an incredibly disciplined team and a great rushing attack, Army could sneak up on the Cardinal very quickly, especially if Stanford is not focused due to last Saturday’s disappointment. The Black Knights will want to manage the clock and use their dominant rushing attack while hopefully capitalizing off key mistakes to win the game. This will be a ball control game between the two teams what will end a little more quickly than football games usually do with so much clock running.

Prediction

Army will catch Stanford off guard early due to the Cardinal players and fans still thinking about last week, but Stanford will regroup in the second half and pull away. It won’t be pretty, but they’ll win.
