Saturday Blitz Conference Power Rankings Week 3

10. Sun Belt Conference

Here’s a stat for the Sun Belt conference and anybody who cares: 0-9. That is how the conference fared in non-conference match-ups this past weekend. It’s enough to put the Sun Belt in it’s rightful place as the worst conference in college football right now after two straight atrocious weeks. In the Sun Belt’s defense, five of those losses were against Power Five teams who should have won, but that also speaks to the low expectations of the conference.

This should have been expected with so many teams who barely belong in FBS this year. Honestly, the fact that the conference wasn’t the worst in the country for two weeks is kind of impressive given the teams that play in it. But it has returned to normal this week, and the low expectations of the conference allow us not to hold feelings that are too harsh toward them. What are we supposed to expect from them?

This week the conference has eight non-conference match-ups, including three against Power Five teams and one against a Top 25 opponent. That makes for a great chance for it to make a statement again. Or for it to fall further down this list.
