Saturday Blitz Week 3 SEC Power Rankings

4. Auburn Tigers, 2-0 (1-0), Idle Last Saturday

Auburn didn’t play anybody last Saturday, but now they look to have one of the best quality wins of anybody in the SEC so far after blowing out Arkansas to open the season. The Razorbacks’ win over Texas Tech solidified the Tigers as a team that is still great and not going anywhere. With 45 and 59 points in the first two games of the year, this offense has not had any drop-off, and there are two quarterbacks who can run it.

Now the Tigers have a visit to a very good Kansas State team this Thursday that will be a very dangerous game. Kansas State is very capable of pulling off the upset, especially if the Tigers take them lightly. They cannot afford to lose this game with the college football playoff in mind.

If the Tigers play their game and do beat Kansas State, they will be able to move up this list even from where they are right now. That would make two quality wins, including one on the road against a ranked opponent. Gus Malzahn with a week off is dangerous.
