Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Predictions Week 4
Saturday Blitz Record in Big Ten Games Last Week: 5-5 (23-11 Overall)
Two weeks ago, we learned that the Big Ten is down. This past week, we learned that it is awful. This week? Well, it’s one final chance at redemption before conference play begins.
It was bad enough when all of the top teams lost. But last Saturday, when all of the good to middle of the pack teams lost against other Power Five teams, the conference showed itself to be absolutely awful. To be fair to the Big Ten, its teams are actually scheduling tough non-conference games. But they’re losing them. All of them. Can’t you win at least a couple to make your conference look somewhat decent?
For the third time, though, the Big Ten slate has quite a few games against Power Five teams. Here is the conference’s chance to once again try to make itself look good. Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Maryland, and Iowa all have games against Power Five opponents, and they’re very winnable for the last four mentioned. Rutgers and Wisconsin also have very exciting games against non-Power Five opponents, facing Navy and Bowling Green respectively.

A good weekend against these opponents may not be enough to make up for the Big Ten debacle of the past two weeks, but it could offset some of the damage. At least show the world that some of your middle of the pack teams are good. Right now, nobody is prepared to bet on anybody from this conference, and this is their last chance to prove themselves with conference play starting consistently next week.
So it’s time for this conference that has some pretty good but young teams to finally turn things around and get a little bit of respect back. There are enough games on the slate this weekend to do that. Will the Big Ten finally be able to walk away from a weekend not completely embarrassed?
