Utah, Arizona, and Oregon State Moving Up in Week 4 Pac 12 Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 4
4. Washington Huskies, 4-0 (0-0), Defeated Georgia State Panthers 45-14 Last Saturday
Finally, the Washington Huskies have put together two straight complete games under head coach Chris Petersen. Thankfully, we don’t have to worry now if Petersen is cut out for big time college football. A dominant win over Georgia State is not much to speak about, but because it comes a week after a blowout win over Illinois, they look good enough right now to be back in consideration as a Top 25 team.
Hey, 4-0 is 4-0. And the Huskies have gotten there the exact opposite way from any other Pac 12 team: they are running the football. This team is 106th in passing and 28th in rushing right now while averaging 41.3 points per game. It clearly has found its rhythm after having to escape with a 17-16 victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors to start the season.
Now, with Stanford coming to town this weekend in a huge Pac 12 North match-up, we will find out a lot more about this Petersen-coached Huskies team. This is going to be the anti-Pac 12 Pac 12 game with two teams that like to run the ball and not throw for 100 points. This will show how legit Washington is.
