Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 4

10. California Golden Bears, 2-1 (0-1), Lost to Arizona Wildcats 49-45 Last Saturday

The question everybody should be asking is this: why is Cal this low on our list? To be honest, it was a hard choice because this team should be 3-0 right now and is only one Hail Mary away from being five spots higher. really doesn’t seem fair at all when you think about it.

But the Golden Bears still haven’t picked up any impressive wins yet this year, especially when you consider how overrated Northwestern was, and what sticks out more than that last play against the Arizona Wildcats is the fact that Cal gave up 36 points in the fourth quarter.

Just from casually seeing the game, it looked more like Arizona didn’t take Cal seriously until the fourth quarter, and once they did they began to torch them. That’s a fact that would be hard to ignore even if Cal had won the game, so we are definitely going to take it into account now that they have lost the game. Because of that, we’re keeping them near the bottom of our list right now, and games against Colorado and Washington State over the next two weeks, the two teams below them, will really shape where everybody belongs.
