Utah, Arizona, and Oregon State Moving Up in Week 4 Pac 12 Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 4
9. Stanford Cardinal, 2-1 (0-1), Idle Last Saturday
Obviously Stanford would be higher on this list if we were judging by pure talent, but the loss to USC already looked worse because of the Trojans’ loss to Boston College, and now the win over Army looks like nothing due to the fact that the Black Knights lost to Wake Forest over the weekend.
Factoring all of that in, and then adding that there are a host of Pac 12 teams still undefeated right now is enough to keep the Cardinal and David Shaw in the bottom part of this list for right now, even though that could change this weekend. Stanford can’t play Stanford football, though, if it turns the ball over the way it did against USC.
The Cardinal get another chance, though to move up the rankings with a game at Washington Saturday. We will finally start to see the Pac 12 take shape, and this is one of the premier conference games everybody should want to watch. Then, with a road game against Notre Dame next week, Stanford has a great chance to gain back lots of respect. This team still has a chance to do everything it wanted to do, but it’s got to start winning again. Oh, and it has to have decent kicking.
