Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 4

5. Utah Utes, 3-0 (0-0), Defeated Michigan Wolverines 26-10 Last Saturday

It looks like Utah is finally looking like the Power Five team we expected it to be when it made the jump to the Pac 12. A blowout win in Michigan may not be as impressive as it might have been in the past given the state of the Wolverines program, but it is still a very impressive win. Don’t forget that there is still lots of talent on Michigan.

This looks like a very balanced team so far. It’s ranked 38th in passing, 46th in rushing, 7th in points per game with 47, and 17 in points allowed with 18. Those defensive numbers will be put to the test this weekend when Washington State comes to town, and Utah’s legitimacy will be put to the test throughout the Pac 12 season.

But right now, the Utes have been shockingly very good, and it’s something fans might have been hoping for but couldn’t have seen coming at the beginning of the year. They are one of the better teams in the Pac 12, and there are plenty of match-ups to prove just how good they are. After the Cougars, five of the next six teams on their schedule are ranked. Let’s see how it plays out.
