Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Predictions Week 5

New Mexico State Aggies at No. 17 LSU Tigers

Line: LSU by 43

Les Miles and the LSU Tigers owe the entire state of Louisiana an apology after last week’s showing in a terrible home loss to Mississippi State. Sure, they made it close at the end, but not before almost the entire stadium was empty. That was plain bad, especially with a defense and running game that was supposed to be the best in the conference. They need to make it up this week by putting on a show for the fans. That means 250 to 300 yards and a couple of touchdowns for Anthony Jennings or whomever starts Saturday, and a few long runs and touchdowns from Kenny Hilliard and Leonard Fournette.

Unfortunately, unless the game becomes just a very fun one to watch, the LSU fans simply have nothing to look forward to here. New Mexico State won’t provide even the slightest competition, with their only two wins against Cal Poly and Georgia State. This is a terrible football team that won’t give the Tigers anything to be excited about with a win, even in a blowout.

Prediction

LSU will jump out early at home and pitch another great defensive game, making up for last week. It won’t be a shutout, but the Tigers will still dominate on both sides of the ball en route to a very easy blowout victory.
