Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 5

6. Arizona Wildcats, 4-0 (1-0), Idle Last Saturday

The Arizona Wildcats are still undefeated after a bye week this last week and make a strong case to be higher on this list, but we need to see more. Their best win is off of a Hail Mary against one of the bottom teams in this conference, and the other wins have come against glorified mid-major teams. That’s not enough to move them up this list just yet.

The offense looks deadly with Anu Solomon right now, and Nick Wilson is doing his job at running back while Cayleb Jones at receiver rounds out what might be the best trio in the conference. And the defense, outside of the game against Cal, hasn’t been terrible, only allowing 27 points per game. But giving up 45 points against Cal is still not a great look, even if that offense is good, and the Wildcats have not done anything yet to prove they are among one of the top teams in the conference.

But with a trip to Oregon Thursday and a home game against USC next week, all that will change quickly. Over the course of the next two weeks, we will know exactly where this team stands in our Pac 12 Power Rankings and in our Top 25 rankings.
