Saturday Blitz Week 6 Blitz Points Winners

12. Terris Jones-Grigsby, Running Back, Arizona Wildcats (Defeated Oregon Ducks 31-24 Last Thursday)

27 Carries for 115 Yards and 1 Touchdown; 4 Receptions for 95 Yards

How often does a player lead his team in rushing and receiving when they pull off a huge upset? Terris Jones-Grigsby did just that on Thursday, rushing for 115 yards and having 95 receiving yards. In a year where Nick Wilson has been the star of the Arizona Wildcats rushing offense, Jones-Grigsby stole the show for the offense against Oregon.

Anu Solomon was good at quarterback but not great, with 287 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Nick Wilson still had 92 yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries. But Jones-Grigsby was the star Thursday night. He, along with Scooby Wright, was the game-changer for the Wildcats en route to their incredible upset win in Eugene on Thursday. And the best play he made came at the end of the game when Arizona had the ball up by a touchdown.

It was 3rd and 5, and Arizona needed a 1st down to run out the clock. Rich Rodriguez called Jones-Grigsby’s number to get the first down, and he was initially stopped. But he carried a pile of Oregon defenders to fight forward for the first down. So he didn’t just rack up numbers; he made a huge game-winning run for the first down to seal the victory.

That’s what makes Jones-Grigsby a Blitz Points winner.
