Saturday Blitz Week 6 Big Ten Power Rankings

Brady Hoke is in deep trouble. After Michigan’s loss to Rutgers over the weekend, this team is on a major downward spiral. And the hole now looks far to deep to climb out of with a 2-4 record overall and 0-2 Big Ten record.

Devin Gardner actually wasn’t terrible for Michigan Saturday, which makes them losing a scarier thought. The defense came out flat, showing that there is more than one aspect of this team that desperately needs help. The Wolverines are still unable to stay on the field and continue drives, regardless of whether or not Gardner or any other quarterback plays well for the team. That has created a serious problem that doesn’t look like it’ll get corrected any time soon.

Things aren’t looking up either. Penn State comes to town this weekend, followed by a road trip to Michigan State. With road games against Northwestern and Ohio State in the future and a home date with Maryland, it’s easy to see this team falling to 3-9 on the season. And it’s hard to see this team getting to 6 wins on the season, meaning Hoke is likely gone.

But if he stays, it doesn’t change the fact that Michigan is the worst team in the Big Ten right now.
