Louisville-Clemson Highlights Vegas ACC Predictions Week 7
Saturday Blitz Vegas ACC Predictions Week 7
Boston College Eagles at N.C. State Wolfpack
Line: N.C. State by 3
This could be a fight to determine who goes bowling at the end of the year. N.C. State had such a great start to the season, but he Wolfpack have shown that they have serious issues that need to be corrected after two straight losses. In order to beat Boston College, the defense has to improve everywhere. Fortunately for Dave Doeren’s second team, Boston College isn’t as balanced as Clemson or Florida State, but the Wolfpack still need to play better there. Jacoby Brissett is a good quarterback with 13 touchdowns to only 1 interception, but he has got to show up as well after being pathetic last Saturday. And running backs Shadrach Thornton and Matt Dayes still need to be the focus of the offense to score a lot of points, and in this game they need to lead long drives to keep the defense rested.

With the First Pick
Boston College, under Steve Addazio, needs to play Steve Addazio football. The Eagles will want to try to run the football down N.C. State’s throat as much as possible and demoralize that weak defense, but if the last two weeks have proven anything, it’s that the weak defense gets exposed against balanced offenses. That means quarterback Tyler Murphy, who leads the team in rushing and passing, has to do a bit more passing in this game to give the Eagles a chance on the road. If he can’t do that, then this team will fall to 3-3 and likely staying home for the Holidays. That is certainly not what they want, so this team needs to make sure that it can get a little bit of balance in the offense to win the game.
Prediction
The one-dimensional style of play that Boston College is faced with will be enough for N.C. State to pull out the victory. Brissett will get his rhythm back, throwing for multiple touchdowns, and the running game will torch Boston College. Meanwhile, the Eagles will get their stats on the ground, but Murphy won’t be able the throw the ball the way he is needed to throw it, and that will be the difference in the game. N.C. State wins.
