Saturday Blitz Blitz Points Winners Week 7

Notre Dame survived another scare. And William Fuller is the reason for the survival. The sophomore wide receiver came up huge for the Irish in a game where Everett Golson struggled a bit with accuracy. But it was Fuller who saved the team.

Down 14-0, Fuller caught his first touchdown pass from Golson to cap off an 88-yard drive. Then, with Notre Dame barely hanging on for a 28-26 lead, Fuller caught a 35-yard touchdown pass to extend the Irish lead to 35-26, making it a 2-score game. North Carolina fought back and took the lead at that point, but the Irish would have had no chance in this game if Fuller had not come through time and time again. He had nearly half of Golson’s passing yards total.

Putting up yards and points against North Carolina’s defense is expected. But when the UNC offense makes it a game, and your quarterback is struggling with accuracy, it makes it that much more impressive and clutch to come away with more than 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. For that, we are going to give Fuller a lot of credit, and it allows him to squeak in as our final Blitz Points winner.
