Saturday Blitz Blitz Points Winners Week 7

Forced fumbles, sacks, interceptions, and defensive touchdowns are usually things that can get players on our Blitz Points list at any point. But when a defense had two different players come up with interceptions, two different players force fumbles, two different players recover fumbles, and four different players come up with a sack or half a sack in addition to another three players who had tackles for a loss, then you have 13 players on a defense who changed the game at one point.

When that happens, the credit has to go to the defensive coordinator. Multiply that credit by 10 when you consider the fact that Mississippi State did it against a high-powered Auburn offense. Geoff Collins had his defense ready to play the whole game, and although they gave up 441 yards of offense, that can be forgiven. This is an explosive Auburn offense. And the Bulldogs made play after play on defense to keep them from catching up in the game.

You have to give credit to everybody on that defense, and when that happens, you have to praise the coach of the defense for having them ready to go. We are going to do that here, and for the first time all season, an assistant coach belongs on our list of Blitz Points Winners.
