Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 7

They didn’t play last week, but we still have to list the Colorado Buffaloes as the worst team in the Big 12. It may come across as unfair because they have looked much better than people might have expected over the pas few games. But we still haven’t seen anything that would convince us they belong anywhere above this spot.

Colorado has at least found a passing game with Sefo Liufau at quarterback and Nelson Spruce at receiver. In fact, that’s about the only thing it’s found, and Spruce could be a superstar. The defense has given up 36 points a game, and despite 320 passing yards a game, the offense is only averaging 32 points a game. That’s not bad, but it could be more. The rushing attack isn’t helping either with nobody at 300 yards yet.

At 2-4, the Buffaloes are in trouble of having the record for this season look identical to last year’s record, even though the team itself has looked much better through six games. But USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Oregon, and Utah are all games they would be expected to lose. So honestly, that means that 2-10 is the expectation for this team right now unless they pull off a few upsets. That’s even worse than what we thought they should do.

So with that in mind, who can put them anywhere above last in the Pac 12 right now?
