Saturday Blitz Vegas Pac 12 Predictions Week 8

Colorado Buffaloes at No. 22 USC Trojans

Line: USC by 20.5

This game could get interesting. We know what USC’s offense is going to do with Cody Kessler and Javorius Allen. Those guys have been consistently good all year. But will the good USC defense or the bad USC defense show up? If the bad USC defense shows up, the Trojans could struggle a lot more than they would like to. USC’s defense has looked pathetic in different areas at different times this season. And it has cost them two games. The Trojans got torched on the ground against Boston College and through the air against Arizona State. But they manned up against Stanford and Arizona. The key is making big plays and forcing mistakes to assure this is a blowout win because that’s what they did against the Cardinal and the Wildcats.

Colorado, meanwhile, will have its best chance at winning if it simply does what it has been doing: throw the ball a lot with Sefo Liufau. That’s really their only chance at winning, but the key has to be making sure he doesn’t throw any interceptions. That’s what is going to be hard. This offense is prone to big plays and turnovers. Big plays beats USC. Turnovers cause you to lose to USC. The Buffaloes need to get the big plays and no turnovers, and that could be hard.

Prediction

We trust good USC defense to show up at home, so this game is going to be a comfortable win for the Trojans. Steve Sarkisian’s offense will get its points, and the defense will get 2 big interceptions to make sure the Buffaloes never threaten. The Trojans will have no trouble Saturday.
