ACC Power Rankings Week 8: Virginia Tech, N.C. St., Georgia Tech Fall, Florida St. Still No. 1
Saturday Blitz ACC Power Rankings Week 8
Miami didn’t play last week, which means they had nearly as many fans showing up for their game as they usually do. Okay, mean joke, but maybe the fans should take notice that this team still could accomplish a lot. The win against Duke is looking better and better each week, and this team has at least played one of the more difficult schedules among ACC teams en route to a 4-3 record.
Can they keep it up? That depends on Brady Kaaya. The defense and running game are fine, and the defense in particular doesn’t have to face a crazy offense like the Georgia Tech option offense the rest of the year. Kaaya’s inconsistency cost the Hurricanes the Louisville game, but he has been developing a lot over the past few weeks. If he keeps getting better, this could be at least a 9 win team after the bowl season.
Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, and Pitt are all winnable games, and that Florida State game at home could be one to keep your eye on given the fact that it’s a rivalry. That schedule sets up for at least what should be an 8-4 regular season, and the Hurricanes have shown they’re good enough to get that record.
That’s why we have them at No. 6 on our rankings.
