Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 8

Weren’t the Colorado Buffaloes supposed to be better this year? Well, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. After losing to USC on Saturday, they have now fallen to 0-4 in the Pac-12 and 2-5 overall. But up until Saturday this team was at least showing improvement. Then came the blowout loss to USC 56-28, and now everything has come crashing down.

Colorado still has a very good offense, but Nelson Spruce and Sefo Liufau didn’t come through the way they usually do on Saturday. What we learned is that if Liufau doesn’t have 300 to 400 yards passing with at least 150 yards to Spruce, there’s nobody else that can keep this team from being blown off the field. That’s a problem.

And the rest of the Pac-12 schedule is a problem as well. The final five games for the Buffaloes are UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Oregon, and Utah. Could they beat any of those teams? Probably not, and that spells a lot of trouble for Mike MacIntyre. Fans were hoping to see improvement his second year, but in all likelihood his record will be worse. The dreaded 2-10 record seems likely now.

And with a record like that, we have no choice but to put this team at the bottom of our Pac 12 power rankings.
