Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 8

So the LSU Tigers are finally starting to develop and make their way back to college football relevancy after two blowout losses. Les Miles’s young team has had lots of personnel issues to deal with this year so far, but a blowout win against Kentucky to remind everybody who they are is exactly what they needed. So let’s celebrate that LSU is back for a second.

Now, onto that personnel. It’s still inconsistent. Miles and Co. still work to keep the ball out of quarterback Anthony Jennings’s hands as much as possible, and in response different LSU running backs step up. This time it was Terrance Magee. But why isn’t Leonard Fournette the star back? Wasn’t he compared to Adrian Peterson and Michael Jordan? He’s only shown flashes so far. That combined with an inconsistent defense could be a problem going forward.

LSU still has to play Ole Miss and Alabama, and Arkansas and Texas A&M are no jokes. With that in mind, it’s worth noting that the Tigers are still a very talented team that could win all of those games. But they need to show it on the field like they did on Saturday for us to believe in them.

Based on talent and performance, they’re still at least a Top 6 SEC team.
