Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 8

Ole Miss once again managed to show just how loaded they are on Saturday in a dominating win against Tennessee. Hugh Freeze has put together a team worthy of every bit of the recognition it has received. The Rebels have solid out of conference wins against mid-majors, and they have great conference wins so far, some of which are very convincing. And that’s due to a complete team.

Clearly the Ole Miss formula is render the offense useless, and eventually your defense gets tired, which is when Bo Wallace torches you. It helps with stars like Senquez Golson and Cody Prewitt to unleash and force turnovers, and receivers like LaQuon Treadwell help to break games open. Ole Miss can just demoralize teams with this game plan, and it’s worked so far. But it’s got a long way to go to keep working.

The Rebels still have to worry about Auburn, LSU, and Mississippi State being on the schedule, so their season is far from set. We all want the undefeated Egg Bowl showdown, but those are still two top teams before then that could sneak up on Ole Miss. Losing either of them could be devastating, so this team has to focus.

For one of the Top 2 SEC teams, that shouldn’t be a problem.
