Saturday Blitz Vegas Prediction:

Northwestern Wildcats

The Wildcats return to winning form this weekend against an Iowa team that is simply not very good. These Hawkeyes haven’t beaten anybody en route to their 5-2 record, and let’s not forget that their losses to Maryland and Iowa State aren’t great losses.

Northwestern, meanwhile, started out slow but then proceeded to get back on track. The only reason for their losses after getting on track is because they were simply against better teams in Minnesota and Nebraska. Iowa does not fall into that category, and it will show on Saturday.

Kirk Ferentz’s Hawkeyes have nothing explosive on offense, and the defense can be exploited heavily by skill players. Northwestern and Pat Fitzgerald have enough of that to pull out the road victory on Saturday and move to 4-4 on the year.

The Wildcats will be able to use a balanced, efficient attack to beat the Hawkeyes and come away with what could be a season-saving win.

Northwestern wins a very ugly match-up on the road, which is what they typically do.
