Saturday Blitz Vegas Prediction:

Ohio State Buckeyes

All of a sudden, Illinois’s season might be saved after a huge upset win over Minnesota last week. Kidding.

That game means nothing, and it’s not going to stop the onslaught the Ohio State Buckeyes drop on Tim Beckman’s Fighting Illini this weekend.

Illinois has shown itself to be most vulnerable against any type of balanced offense, which Minnesota is not. In its spread formation, Ohio State is very balanced and has a developing superstar in J.T. Barrett at quarterback right now. Taking all of that into account, the Buckeyes are going to pour on lots of points against a pathetic defense and wake up Illinois to reality.

There are ways to beat this Buckeyes team, and it’s not by matching them with high-powered skill players, which is what Illinois tries to do. Ask Maryland how that worked out for them against Ohio State.

Illinois’s only chance is that Ohio State could possibly be looking forward to the Michigan State game next weekend, but even at that point, the Buckeyes should have no trouble pulling out a win on the road.
