Initially, this game wasn’t interesting at all. But with the news of Kenny Hill’s two-week suspension, it’s now going to be worth tuning into to see how Kyle Allen plays.
Allen was the top quarterback in this past year’s recruiting class, and now he gets to rack up lots of stats in a noon game against Louisiana-Monroe for his first start. Let’s call it what it is, this could be a spark Texas A&M needs after the way it has looked in the past three games. You couldn’t just outright bench Kenny Hill, but having him get suspended for two weeks is a pretty good excuse to see what the freshman has. And this is a great tune-up game.
Let’s call it how we see it. Louisiana-Monroe needs a miracle to win this game. About their only chance is to score a lot on Texas A&M’s suspect defense and bring pressure against Allen, who could be as suspect against a blitz as Kenny Hill was. But in reality, there’s no realistic chance we give the Warhawks to win this game.
