Sugar Bowl: No. 1 Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. No. 4 Kansas State Wildcats

The Bulldogs, as the top seed, would earn the right to play in the bowl game closest to their home. New Orleans is right on the Mississippi border, so obviously it would be no trouble for Mississippi State fans to travel there. And if our projections come through, they would play Kansas State in the first game.

Mississippi State-Kansas State would be an epic showdown between two teams that have mobile quarterbacks and run interesting elements to the spread option. It would be a sight to see, and New Orleans isn’t too far from Kansas either, so they could have some people show up. This would be a good game.

Rose Bowl: No. 2 Florida State Seminoles vs. No 3 Auburn Tigers

Obviously, because of seeding and home field advantage, the Selection Committee would have Auburn and Florida State play in the Rose Bowl based on our projections. Not only would that be a rematch of last year’s national title game, but it would be a rematch in the same stadium if everything worked out.

And this game would probably have an epic finish again. Come on, who wouldn’t want to see this one again after the way Jimbo Fisher and Jameis Winston took the national title from Auburn for Florida State in a thriller last year? This would be epic. And with the way the playoff is shaping up, it’s a very distinct possibility.
