Oregon Ducks at No. 4 over Alabama, Big 12 Teams

Seriously, who honestly thinks that Oregon belongs in the College Football Playoff right now? Sure, they beat a team from the Big Ten, big whoop, and they have a couple of nice Pac-12 wins. Their schedule doesn’t measure up by any stretch of the imagination.

At this stage of the college football season, Alabama’s wins over West Virginia, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Florida altogether stand out against one good win that Oregon has against Michigan State. It’s a joke to suggest otherwise, and it’s a complete joke to put them ahead of any 1-loss team from the SEC or the Big 12.

The Big 12 has six good teams and five Top 25-worthy teams in a 10-team conference. A 1-loss team from that conference has proven a lot more than any 1-loss Pac-12 team at this stage in the season, the same way a 1-loss SEC team has. That makes it even more pathetic that the Selection Committee put the Ducks ahead of these other team.

But we aren’t going to ignore that bad loss to Arizona at home, and we’re still waiting for an impressive Oregon win. Call us when it happens. Until then, they have no business being in anybody’s Top 10, let alone Top 5.
