Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Prediction: Iowa Wins 31-21

Sorry Minnesota, but your team has woken up. Jerry Kill is a great coach, and this is a great team, but these guys have played over their head all year. Reality finally set in with the loss to Illinois, and it will continue on Saturday with a loss at home to Iowa.

Meanwhile, Iowa seems to have found itself. The Hawkeyes were expected to win last Saturday, but the blowout fashion in which they won shows that this team is becoming more complete by the day. In an elimination game in the Big Ten West race, the Hawkeyes will use a balanced offense to torch the Minnesota defense, and the Golden Gophers won’t be able to get their running game on track at home.

Kirk Ferentz has the Hawkeyes playing at a high level right now, and that won’t change this weekend. They are a legitimate threat to win the West with Wisconsin and Nebraska. There’s no way that they blow that chance against Minnesota.

Yes, we’re saying Minnesota will blow the chance, but they were never good enough to win the West anyway.
