Kentucky Wildcats 5-5 (2-5)
Last week: Lost to Georgia Bulldogs 63-31
Last rank: 11
As we figured would happen, the Kentucky Wildcats have woken up recently. Well, honestly, they simply started playing good teams. The fact that they have fallen to 5-5 should not be a surprise, but it has forced us to knock them down a lot. And the embarrassing way they lost to Georgia only proves that they weren’t a good team.
The defense at least looked decent before Saturday. That’s out the window. The special teams coverage is obviously a bad. And Patrick Towles and the offense, while decent, can’t compete with the big boys of the SEC. Mark Stoops has taken this team on a nice run, but reality had to set in at some point. And it has set in. Making a bowl could now be difficult.
Tennessee is a team that could be getting on a roll, so it could be tough for the Wildcats to win that game. And Louisville is going to be tough too. This is obviously an improvement over last year, but a bowl game still seems unlikely.
