Florida State Seminoles 9-0 (6-0)

Last week: Defeated Virginia Cavaliers 34-20
Last rank: 1

Of all the boring things about the ACC this past weekend and for this year, the story of the Florida State Seminoles takes the cake. Yes, at first it was exciting when teams kept challenging them as they took them lightly. Now, it’s the same story every week. The Seminoles get down or struggle early every week, then they rally, Jameis Winston steps up along with another weapon, and they win.

We get it, they’re getting everybody’s best shot, but it’s getting boring. And we can’t knock this team off the top of the ACC Power Rankings until it loses, so there’s nothing to spice this up. We’re honestly tired of seeing it. And the soap opera and investigations surrounding the program this year have just made it worse. In an ironic way, the entertainment is boring. But from a football perspective, Winston’s accuracy is still an issue, but he’s loaded with weapons in Rashad Greene and the running game along with a defense that plays well once it’s needed.

But they can’t stay in cruise control the rest of the season if they want a national championship. Florida is going to be a tough game, and Boston College will be as well. The good thing  is that both are home games. Before them, though, is Miami, and that’s not a home game. It’s a road game this Saturday and it could determine whether the Seminoles crash and burn or can breathe easily. But this team’s work is not finished, and if it wants to stay in this spot, it’s got to focus a little bit harder.
