TCU is one terrible quarter away from likely being the No. 2 ranked team in the country. As it is, that loss to Baylor keeps holding them back. But the blowout win against Kansas State was still very impressive on Saturday, and they are looking as good as any college football team in America right now. We can say that.

Trevone Boykin has shot up the Heisman Trophy race with the way he has played quarterback this year, making up for a very underachieving Gary Patterson defense. Boykin has now proven that, whether it’s in the midst of a bad game against West Virginia or facing a lack of respect against Kansas State, he can perform under any circumstances. And this team still has a great shot with him.

To win the Big 12 championship, a Baylor loss is still very possible. And TCU has all but guaranteed an 11-1 season with Kansas and Iowa State still to play. It will at least be 10-2. Texas on the road could be a lot tougher than we thought. Still, it’s safe to say the Horned Frogs dominance is back.
