Saturday Blitz Vegas ACC Prediction: North Carolina State Wins 20-17

We give this pick with the hope that we are wrong. Why? Because Dave Doeren’s North Carolina State Wolfpack are 5-5 and one win away from 6 wins, which would make the bowl eligible. And they have no right to go to a bowl game with only 6 wins after the pathetic schedule they decided to play all season.

Seriously.

The Wolfpack have squeaked by a lot of mediocre talent, and their only claim to fame is playing Florida State well in the first half, which everybody has done at this point. Forgive us if we don’t celebrate them for that.

Meanwhile, Wake Forest has improved dramatically in Dave Clawson’s first year, and it would be nice to see them pull off a big victory at the end of the season for a bit of momentum. The improvements made by them combined with the pathetic play of an N.C. State team only going bowling because of their schedule shows to us that this game is going to be much closer than the experts think.

Neither team particularly has a great offense, but Wake’s offense is terrible. That’s going to be the difference.
