9 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 1 Forced Fumble
Yes, we want to give credit to Russell Hansbrough for his 199 yards that opened up this Missouri offense and took it to levels we haven’t seen all year under Maty Mauk. But it was against Texas A&M’s defense.
We’re here to give the real credit where credit is due, and that came with Missouri’s defense. It particularly came with Missouri’s defensive line, and we didn’t have to call Shane Ray’s name from it this week.
Markus Golden was all over the field Saturday against a great Texas A&M offense. With 4 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, he did everything as a defensive linemen.
The unit as a whole got that final fourth down stop against Cameron Clear that saved the game, and although he wasn’t in on the tackle, noticed that they dialed that play away from him. Could it be because of how dominant he had been up to that point?
Possibly.
The senior lineman is now playing at a very high level, and he was the catalyst behind a huge upset over Texas A&M, reminding everybody that the Missouri Tigers are still first in the SEC East.
And he is on our Blitz Points list for Week 12 because of it.
