Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Prediction: Purdue Wins 24-21

In a game that could determine the worst team in the Big Ten, we have Darrell Hazell’s Purdue Boilermakers coming out with a close victory over the Northwestern Wildcats. We have finally figured out the Wildcats this year.

For them to beat you, you actually have to be good. Otherwise, Pat Fitzgerald’s wildly inconsistent team will lose.

Purdue has been consistently getting better, meanwhile, under Hazell, but they still aren’t recognized as good. Therefore, we can trust Northwestern to lose to them.

But in all seriousness, the Boilermakers play a mistake-limiting ball control type of game. It will be enough to keep the Wildcats from doing anything really impressive, and using it to their advantage, the Boilermakers will come away with the win.

At 3-7, Purdue has shown a dramatic improvement over last year. That improvement could spur momentum going into next season, and they have to be aware of that, which is another reason they won’t blow this home game they are good enough to win.

And despite beating Notre Dame, the oddsmakers showed us we’re not alone in not trusting Northwestern because they made this an even line.
