Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Prediction: Nebraska Wins 24-17

We know we’re being stubborn with this pick because it could seriously go either way, Iowa showed signs of life last week, and Nebraska has a history of falling apart in games like this. But the Cornhuskers, similar to the Georgia Bulldogs, play much better when there’s nothing to play for.

And with 3 losses and the Big Ten West out of reach, there is nothing to play for.

Unfortunately for Nebraska and Bo Pelini, Ameer Abdullah is still being massively slowed down by injuries, and Tommy Armstron, Jr. has shown no competence in putting together a passing game. However, this team should be tough enough on the offensive line to be able to handle the Hawkeyes.

And although the Hawkeyes should have enough to run over Nebraska, this isn’t Wisconsin, so the same thing won’t happen. Nebraska wins this game by a touchdown to move to 9-3 on the season.

Iowa, meanwhile, has done absolutely nothing to show that it is worth its 7-4 record, and that will show on Saturday as they fall to 7-5 at home.
