15. Wisconsin Badgers, 10-2 (7-1)
Last Game: Defeated Minnesota Golden Gophers 34-24
Next Game: Ohio State Buckeyes in Big Ten Championship
The Wisconsin Badgers have been on a huge roll ever since that awful mid-season loss to Northwestern, blowing out winning teams that include Maryland, Rutgers, Nebraska, Iowa, and now Minnesota.
When you consider that those are all teams going to bowl games and that they also bear another bowl eligible team in Illinois, their resume looks pretty good. The loss to LSU isn’t a bad loss either. But the loss to Northwestern is a terrible loss. And the strength of schedule for the Badgers is still stuck at No. 74. Add to that the fact that, although all of those teams were winning teams, none were Top 10 worthy, and Wisconsin’s quality win column is lacking outside of maybe Minnesota.
They have a great chance to change that this weekend. The game against Ohio State is a way for them to jump right into the Top 10 and, again if a bunch of teams lose, maybe into the College Football Playoff discussion. But that would take a lot of luck.
