13. UCLA Bruins, 9-3 (6-3)

Last Game: Lost to Stanford Cardinal 31-10

Next Game: Bowl Game

The UCLA Bruins should kick themselves as many times as possible. They have three losses, two of those against teams they were far superior to. This team easily could have been in the race for the College Football Playoff and blew it.

That being said, the Bruins are still 9-3 and, outside of Ole Miss, have played a much tougher schedule than many of the 10-2 teams. We have no problem putting them ahead of Kansas State and Wisconsin with their strength of schedule, and quality wins against USC, Arizona, and Arizona State all need to count for something. Even beating Memphis matters now, and Stanford, Utah, and especially Oregon aren’t bad losses. With all of that in mind, the Bruins clearly deserve to be in the Top 15 because their schedule strength rivals that of the elite SEC schools.
