1. Florida State Seminoles, 12-0 (8-0)
Last Game: Defeated Florida Gators 24-19
Next Game: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the ACC Championship
The Florida State Seminoles get to keep the throne they regained last week. It would take a heck of a lot more for us to knock Florida State off this top spot than struggling with Florida, an in-state rivalry game that could go either way no matter how good each team is. But as we’ve already said, how you look doesn’t matter anyway.
Let’s stick with body of work. The Seminoles looked a lot better for beating Louisville and Clemson after the way they played over the weekend, and now they have a chance to beat a third Top 25 team this week. They have beaten seven teams with at least six wins and five teams with at least seven wins. Just something for all of you detractors who don’t think they belong in this spot because of schedule strength or the stupid margin of victory/style points argument.
And with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets coming up, who just beat Georgia, the Seminoles have a great chance to add to their quality wins and strength of schedule resume. Simply put, if they win on Saturday, there is no way that they will lose this top spot.
