Even though they haven’t won anything, when you’re Auburn, there’s still a lot to play for at 8-4. The Tigers have a Top 25 finish to think about and pride, so their bowl game still matters.

Auburn Tigers 8-4 (4-4)

Last week: Lost to Alabama Crimson Tide 55-44
Last rank: 7

They were so close!!! The Auburn Tigers and Gus Malzahn had to be feeling pretty good after a two-score lead against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the third quarter.

But instead of being angry at the end due to what they blew, the truth is it was just reality setting in. Auburn wasn’t good enough to beat Alabama, but it is still good enough to be in the top half of the SEC.

Nick Marshall and Sammie Coates are still an amazing combination, and Malzahn’s offense is not going anywhere in the future as he continues to recruit well. But the defense is still an issue that needs to be fixed, which started with the firing of Ellis Johnson.
