Most Outstanding Place Kicker: Brad Craddock, Maryland Terrapins- 18 of 19, Long of 57, 41 of 41 on Extra Points

Awards: Lou Groza Award

This one isn’t even a debate. Brad Craddock’s only miss was a 50-yarder the last game of the season after consistently making them all year, including one long field goal to beat the Penn State Nittany Lions earlier in the season. Craddock was the difference between 7-5 and maybe 5-7 for the Terps their first year in the Big Ten.

And when you’re perfect under 50, you’re as reliable as they come. Craddock should be the clear-cut Lou Groza award winner, because he has been by far the best all year of anybody.

Other Finalists:

Roberto Aguayo, Florida State Seminoles- 25 of 27, Long of 53, 53 of 53 on Extra Points

Of anybody, Roberto Aguayo has the strongest case to be the top kicker over Brad Craddock. However, not being perfect under 50 is why we had to nitpick and drop him.

Josh Lambert, West Virginia Mountaineers- 27 of 36, Long of 55, 41 of 41 on Extra Points

Josh Lambert has been very reliable and the most called-upon of these players, but he still missed too many field goals to be recognized as the top kicker.
