Saturday Blitz Vegas Bowl Prediction: Duke Wins 27-21

The high-powered Arizona State offense against the insanely overachieving Duke Blue Devils should lead to an obvious Sun Devils victory, particularly with this game in El Paso. But Duke, somehow, someway, the way it has done in too many games this year, will finally get that elusive bowl victory under head coach David Cutcliffe this time.

The Blue Devils have a very disciplined defense that doesn’t play out of position, and the offense is incredibly efficient and doesn’t make mistakes. Arizona State, meanwhile, is still reeling from the loss to Arizona. Todd Graham could have this quarterback battle open between Mike Bercovici and Taylor Kelly, and while both are good, there is just a lack of consistency there.

That lack of consistency will lead to problems against a team that has lived and died by capitalizing off of mental errors from other teams all year long. And when it comes to coaching, who would you trust to better manage his players in a game like this? Cutcliffe or Graham? Obviously, the answer is Cutcliffe.

And the great coaching, efficient play from quarterback Anthony Boone in his final game, and a few big plays from Jamison Crowder will lead to a Duke victory.
