Saturday Blitz Vegas Bowl Prediction: Mississippi State Wins 31-17
Georgia Tech barely escaped with a win over rival Georgia to end the season. The same thing is not going to happen against a superior SEC foe in Mississippi State. The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets both run unconventional systems with the right personnel to do it, but Mississippi State’s system is more consistent under Dan Mullen, and the Bulldogs have the athletes. Georgia Tech just has the right players in the system.
Dak Prescott will remind everybody that he still is a Heisman-caliber quarterback with 200 yards passing, 100 yards rushing, and throwing for two touchdowns, and rushing for another. He will be the star of the show against what is actually a pretty good Georgia Tech defense. However, these guys have problems lots of times with talented and efficient quarterbacks who are also blessed physically.
That’s exactly what Prescott is.
Josh Robinson will also remind the world how valuable he is to this Mississippi State football program by getting close to, if not surpassing the 100-yard mark and scoring a touchdown of his own in this game. This is a Bulldogs team from the SEC that the Yellow Jackets simply won’t be able to handle.
Justin Thomas will make lots of nice plays against a not-so-great Mississippi State defense, but he will also manage to make a few crucial mistakes that lead to a major Mississippi State victory.
Let’s not forget that the Bulldogs at one point were No. 1 in the rankings. They’ll show why in the Orange Bowl.
