14. Missouri Tigers, 11-3 (7-1)
Last Game: Defeated Minnesota Golden Gophers 33-17 in the Citrus Bowl
Yes, the Missouri Tigers had a terrible loss to Indiana in the first month of the season, but after that their only losses all year were to Alabama and Georgia. Neither of those are really bad losses, and they still did enough to be in the Top 15 at the end of the season after the impressive Citrus Bowl victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Gary Pinkel has a great system at Missouri with an ability to replace players every year, and the coaching is keeping this team in the Top 25 and relevant in the brutal SEC. They have taken advantage of a down SEC East and won the division two years in a row, proving that this is a consistent program.
This year, the Tigers kept winning while people were picking against them, from Texas A&M to Tennessee to Arkansas to Minnesota at the end of the season. They met every challenge.
And that’s why they are No. 14.
