Defeated BYU Cougars 55-48 in Double-Overtime in Miami Beach Bowl

The brawl was the memorable part of this bowl game, but the two-overtime finish was still pretty epic. Paxton Lynch may have had 3 interceptions, but throwing for 4 touchdowns and running for 3 in an epic bowl finish to lead the Memphis Tigers to their first 10-win season since the 1930s and their first Top 25 finish ever was incredibly impressive.

What’s more impressive is that he continually came through in the clutch during this game. Lynch had a touchdown pass to tie the game up in regulation with less than a minute left and then had the game-winning touchdown pass in the second overtime.

Those two things as part of his 7-touchdown performance really stand out. He did a great job running Justin Fuente’s offense.

And for that, Lynch is one of this year’s top college football bowl game performers.
