10. Pharoh Cooper, Wide Receiver, South Carolina Gamecocks
9 Receptions for 170 Yards and 1 Touchdown
Defeated Miami Hurricanes 24-21 in Independence Bowl
In an exciting all-around game, the top receiver on this list may not have had the biggest numbers, but Pharoh Cooper came through against a pretty good team with 170 yards and a touchdown. Cooper spent a while bailing out Dylan Thompson this season, and he managed to do the same thing in this bowl game from the start.
It was Cooper who set the tone of the game for the Gamecocks with his 78-yard touchdown reception that gave them a 7-6 lead over the Hurricanes on their first score of the game. South Carolina never looked back after that and was able to hold on for a 24-21 win.
Cooper’s performance all day played a vital role in that, and he has earned the right to be on this list as a result.
This was the top receiver of the bowl game.
