Defeated Louisville Cardinals 37-14 in Belk Bowl

Before Melvin Gordon was about to provide an encore for a season that gained him much recognition as a running back, a future Herschel Walker at Georgia who was quietly making a name for himself across the South was able to burst onto the national scene in the postseason.

This is, of course, Nick Chubb. Chubb, who was supposed to be Todd Gurley’s back-up all year but turned into a star once he was inserted in, also saved one of his best, if not his best, performances of the season against the Louisville Cardinals, rushing for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns. Louisville has had a suffocating defense all year, and Chubb siply ripped it to shreds.

This obviously bodes very well for the future in Athens, as Chubb has proven he could possibly turn into a superstar in an upcoming year in which SEC running backs are expected to shine.

Perhaps the bowl game was just a glimpse of some great excitement to come.
