2014 Finish: 12-1 (Defeated Ole Miss Rebels 42-3 in the Peach Bowl)

TCU was one bad quarter away from making the College Football Playoff this past year, and the Horned Frogs destroyed the Ole Miss Rebels 42-3 in their bowl game to finish the season 12-1 and in the Top 5. Fresh off of that, with Gary Patterson’s great coaching and 16 starters back, including a Heisman candidate at quarterback in Trevone Boykin, the Horned Frogs fan base is jumping through the roof about next year.

This team is looking at a potential national championship run, and there’s a chance it could start the season ranked No. 1. And everybody trusts Patterson to come through and do the job he is supposed to do, so what’s not to be excited about with this team?

The one team that appears to be standing in their way, Baylor, will have to travel to TCU this year to play, and fans are very aware of the fact that TCU should have easily won that game. A bad quarter and terrible officiating cost them.

TCU fans are holding their noses because of losses at linebacker, but faith in Patterson’s great defense over the years no matter who is in there supersedes that, and having 10 starters back on offense also is becoming the focus.

The Big 12 is going to look deeper next year, and TCU is leading the way. Watch out for this small, private school in Fort Worth.
