2014 Finish: 7-6 (Defeated Texas Longhorns 31-7 in the Texas Bowl)

With the depth of the SEC West this year, Bret Bielema’s Arkansas Razorbacks seemed like the clear-cut odd team out, particularly coming off of a 3-9 season and having a losing record for much of this year. But getting to 7-6 with big wins over LSU, Ole Miss, and then Texas at the end of the year has generated lots of momentum for this fan base.

And with a Top 25 recruiting class coming in and 17 returning starters, it’s for good reason.

Bielema’s system is finally getting implemented in Arkansas, and that power running offense with literally those big HOG mollies up front on the offensive line is helping to establish a fundamental identity for the Razorbacks that the rest of the SEC has to respect. This is very similar to the fans’ excitement after Bobby Petrino’s first season in Arkansas, when he went 5-7 but everybody saw the pieces in place for a great future.

The same appears to be holding true now.

Fans in Fayetteville are primed and ready to be relevant throughout next season in the SEC West.
