#1 Ohio State Buckeyes
2014 Record: 14-1
2014 Final AP Rank: #1
Returning Starters: 7 Offense, 7 Defense, 2 Special Teams
This was an absolute ‘duh.’ Coming off an explosive beatdown of Oregon in the first national title game of the playoff era, it just seemed like Ohio State was just hitting their top form in their last 4 games. It could levy a full dose of Buckeyes for the rest of the nation and the foreseeable future, especially since Cardelle Jones decided to come back in the fall and Ezekiel Elliott will be getting most of the handoffs.
The only obstacle to Ohio State becoming the next college football dynasty might be themselves. Urban Meyer has always been a little flaky whenever success comes along, bolting Utah and Florida for better jobs or ‘quality’ time, saying he was leaving the college coaching world behind. Could Urban Meyer have found his niche in Columbus?
Add all of that up and it could be a cakewalk for the Buckeyes but…the Blitz likes Georgia to stake the SEC name into the second College Football championship, defeating TCU in the final. Of course that’s nearly a year from now, enough time for the likes of Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Baylor to have their say as well. See you in 12 months…
