14. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The Demon Deacons took a beating in 2014, finishing with just one ACC win to their name and a total of three wins on the year. The good news is they can only go up and with freshman quarterback John Wolford showing some promise by tossing, along with freshmen running back Dezmond Wortham and tight end Cam Serigne both returning, they can grow the program together. The offensive line also needs to improve and give Wolford more time in the pocket or his development on offense could be stunted.

On defense the Deacons lose their best corners in Kevin Johnson and Merrill Noel to graduation, but they also return defensive tackle Tylor Harris and linebacker Brandon Chubb to anchor the unit. The Deacons defense rated surprisingly well ranking at 62nd overall in the country allowing 26.4 points per game. Look for this unit to be better against the run this year, but without their top corners their pass defense will struggle.

Also of note is punter Alex Kinal who is returning for his senior season and was voted as a 2nd team All-ACC selection in 2014.

The journey might be a long one, but things are pointed up for the Demon Deacons.
